ALTE, An Abbreviation from the Italian 'Terre Alte' - High Lands
ALTE wines are grown on ancient terra rossa soils at the renowned Little Boomey vineyard, a 25-year-old estate just 40 kilometres north of the town of Orange. Sitting at a cool 600 metres and enjoying the intense, high-elevation sunshine, this ideal altitude is protected from extreme weather that can affect other vineyards.
VARIETIES:
Fresh aromatics of white stone fruit combined with toasty oak and yeast complexity. The medium-bodied palate shows the purity of the region with creamy stone fruit flavours balanced with zippy fresh acidity.
Full flavoured yet elegantly weighted - a hallmark of this exceptional vineyard. The palate shows dark red fruit flavours combined with a hint of Chinese five spice. Soft, fine tannins add structure and length.
