Cumulus wines are meticulously hand-crafted in exceptional vintages. Grown from premium blocks in the vineyard, (above 600 metres) they are whole bunch pressed, natural yeast barrel fermented and matured in a combination of French and American oak for 12 months.
The name Cumulus, comes from the cotton-like cumulus clouds that crown the landscape of the vineyard. They remind us to always aspire to new heights of quality and sustainability. This is our premier red wine. Crafted from fruit sourced in our Estate vineyard in high-elevation Orange, Australia. Hand crafted in exceptional vintages, and vinified in small batches, it reflects our cool climate viticulture and winemaking techniques.
2016 Cumulus Chardonnay
Grapefruit and citrus aromas with a hint of struck match. The palate is elegant and tightly structured with citrus, white stone fruit flavours and toasty oak flavours. Serve with white meat or fish.
2016 Cumulus Merlot
Leafy and herbaceous with dark berry fruit and tobacco aromas. The palate is medium-bodied and elegantly structured with dark berry fruits combined with softly integrated oak. Enjoy with lamb shanks or beef casserole.
2013 Cumulus Cabernet Sauvignon
Hints of spice and cherry fruits. Medium-bodied with plum, berries, liquorice and a hint of dark chocolate. Serve with slow-braised lamb shoulder with salt or rosemary garnish.
2013 Cumulus Shiraz
Plum aromas with a hint of spice continue onto a medium-bodied palate. Savoury black pepper notes combine with oak-derived vanillin notes, finishing with chewy tannins. Serve with spaghetti bolognese or hard cheeses
